Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations at our busy restaurant. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a strong background in food service management, team leadership, and customer satisfaction. The Assistant Manager will support the restaurant’s management team in delivering exceptional dining experiences, ensuring smooth kitchen and front-of-house operations, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including supervising staff and ensuring efficient shift management
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control to meet safety and service standards
- Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper stock levels
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
- Train and develop staff on food handling, customer service, safety protocols, and operational procedures
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Support kitchen management by supervising food production, catering, banquets, or bar services as needed
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members
- Monitor customer feedback to enhance service quality and resolve any issues promptly
- Participate in budgeting, cost control, and operational planning to optimize restaurant performance
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant management or assistant manager roles within quick service or casual dining environments
- Strong knowledge of food industry standards including food safety, handling, and sanitation practices
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling skills required
- Background in food preparation, cooking, kitchen management, or culinary arts preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in staff training, supervision, and team management
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally
- Ability to manage shift schedules effectively and oversee day-to-day restaurant operations
- Hospitality management background including hotel or banquet experience is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and food management
- Previous experience with food production, catering services, or bar operations is desirable
- Leadership qualities combined with excellent communication skills; ability to interview candidates and develop staff talent
- Must have phase 1 and/or phase 2 certification complete.
