Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute customized lesson plans aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), incorporating curriculum development and educational technology integration.
- Implement evidence-based teaching strategies to support students’ communication skills and behavioral health.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively through classroom management and behavior management techniques for students with special needs.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and inform instructional adjustments.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support holistic student development.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and compliance with special education law requirements.
- Foster a nurturing environment that supports early intervention, childhood development, and literacy and math education for young learners.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with children with disabilities in a special education setting is essential.
- Demonstrated success in curriculum development tailored to diverse learning needs, including working with students on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities.
- Experience integrating educational technology tools into lesson plans to enhance learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies for students with neurodevelopmental disorders and familiarity with behavioral health practices
- Strong communication skills for mentoring students, collaborating with families, and working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with special education law (such as IDEA) and best practices in individualized instruction is highly valued.
Certifications
Candidates must hold a valid Texas' teaching certification in Special Education.
