Job Title: Parts Counter Sales Representative
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Parts Counter Sales Representative to join our heavy equipment team. This role is responsible for supporting customers at the parts counter, handling inbound inquiries, and actively driving sales through outreach to past and inactive accounts. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing customer service with sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers at the parts counter, providing accurate parts identification, pricing, and availability
- Handle inbound calls from customers, service technicians, and contractors in a professional and timely manner
- Proactively generate sales through outbound cold calls to past and existing accounts to grow business
- Accurately pick, pull, and process parts orders for customer pickup or delivery
- Maintain strong product knowledge of heavy equipment parts and accessories
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat business
- Process orders, returns, and invoices using internal systems
- Coordinate with service and warehouse teams to ensure timely fulfillment of orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient parts counter and inventory area
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cold calling or outbound sales required
- Experience with parts picking, inventory, or warehouse operations preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude; familiarity with heavy equipment or diesel equipment is a plus. Auto parts experience works as well.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and experience with parts lookup systems or inventory software
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Experience
- Background in heavy equipment, construction equipment, or automotive parts sales
- Knowledge of OEM and aftermarket parts
- Prior experience working at a parts counter or in a similar customer-facing role
Pay: $21.34 - $28.41 per hour
