Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing essential administrative tasks. Your expertise in medical office procedures, EclinicalWorks-EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, and patient communication will help streamline clinic operations and enhance patient care. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and clear directions within the clinic.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using EclinicalWorks (ECW) scheduling software.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement processes.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including data entry into EMR systems like EclinicalWorks.
- Handle incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing inquiries, appointment rescheduling, and follow-up needs.
- Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents correctly and reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Support administrative functions such as data entry, filing, faxing, copying, and managing multi-line phone systems.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all interactions.
Skills
- Eclinicalworks EMR experience required
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Exceptional organizational skills with experience in medical office and front desk operations.
- Bilingual abilities are required to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
- Prior clinic experience is highly desirable to understand workflow and patient care processes.
- Effective communication skills with a focus on patient service and phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare or private insurers is preferred.
