American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - NICU for a Level III NICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and a DC RN license, with ventilator and high-acuity neonatal care skills.

Level III NICU in a hospital setting
-
Neonatal patient population ranging from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months of age, primarily admitted from labor and delivery
-
High-acuity cases including extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome
-
Services include noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, high-frequency oscillation (HFO), and nitric oxide inhalation therapy

3x12-hour day shifts per week, 36 hours per week

9-week contract

Active DC RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)

Current certifications required: BLS (AHA only), NRP, and STABLE

CPI certification required for this position

Minimum 2 years of NICU experience in a US hospital required; 3+ years strongly preferred

Level III NICU experience required

Proficiency with ventilators, oscillators, pressors, and care of micro-preemies required

Active US SSN required for consideration

Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Nurses respond to neonatal emergencies, providing assessment and immediate care to newborns post-delivery and attending all C-sections and high-risk deliveries

Bedside procedures include peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, parenteral therapy, blood and blood product administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and parent teaching

Most diagnostic services are provided at the bedside

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

All certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA)
