Job Responsibilities
Lead teachers are responsible for the following:
- Upholding the mission of OWP through a child-led, play-based curriculum
- Develop planning, preparation, observations, and assessments of students to differentiate and modify environments
- Maintaining a learning environment that is accessible for all students' needs and supports their growth
- Demonstrate understanding of each child’s needs by creating personalized goals
- Maintain classroom documentation for planning and assessment, and for fluent and consistent communication with families
- Complete assessments for children using Teaching Strategies GOLD
- Adhere to state-mandated safety and health guidelines
- Attend staff trainings and meetings
The Lead Teacher will receive direct supervision and ongoing support and feedback from the Education Director to build their teaching skills and ensure that their classroom and team advance One World Project’s mission and vision.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Fluent in Spanish
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience
- OR Any other Bachelor’s Degree plus experience plus a plan for meeting certification requirements within 7 years
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Effective curriculum development, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Must have experience and a desire to work with a diverse population of students, parents, and teachers
Salary & Benefits
- Salary based on experience
- OWP offers paid prep time and paid professional development.
- After 2 years, staff are eligible for a 2% contribution to their 401(k).
- OWP provides a monthly allowance towards AETNA Health Insurance and $100 annually to cover the cost of winter and rain gear expenses.
