Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Contractor to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all phases of construction projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to develop project plans and specifications.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for project completion.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
- Ensure effective communication with clients regarding project updates, timelines, and any changes in scope.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines.
- Lead a team of subcontractors and laborers while providing guidance on best practices in construction techniques.
- Review blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Perform hands-on tasks as needed including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, flooring installation, and more.
Skills
- Proficient in Bluebeam for project management and documentation.
- Strong background in construction management with experience in estimating costs and timelines.
- Knowledgeable in construction inspection processes to ensure quality control.
- Familiarity with various trades including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, roofing, concrete forming, plastering, hardscape installation, glass installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, tile laying, caulking, trim carpentry, restoration work, masonry techniques, welding skills, and construction painting.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely on construction sites.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills along with the ability to interpret schematics accurately.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail in all aspects of construction work.
