We are seeking a caring, dependable, and organized Preschool Director to lead our licensed child care center in Sacramento, CA. The Director will oversee the daily operations of the center, ensure compliance with California Community Care Licensing regulations, supervise staff, maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment, and build positive relationships with children and families.
This is a hands-on leadership position. The Director may assist in classrooms when needed while supporting the overall success of the preschool.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the preschool.
- Ensure compliance with California Community Care Licensing regulations.
- Supervise, support, schedule, and evaluate teachers and staff.
- Maintain children's records, staff files, and licensing documentation.
- Communicate professionally with families and address questions or concerns.
- Assist with enrollment, family tours, and parent communication.
- Support classrooms as needed.
- Promote a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Meet California Community Care Licensing qualifications for a Preschool Director.
- College coursework required to qualify as a Preschool Director under California licensing regulations.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a licensed preschool or child care center.
- Strong knowledge of California Community Care Licensing regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience supervising teachers and supporting classroom operations.
- Ability to assist in classrooms when needed.
- Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain before employment).
- Ability to pass a Live Scan background check and meet all California licensing requirements.
- Health screening and TB clearance as required by California licensing.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Preschool Director or Assistant Director experience.
- Experience with licensing inspections and compliance.
- Experience with enrollment, parent communication, and staff scheduling.
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Pay: $24.04 - $27.88 per hour
