HVAC Controls Installation Crew Leader (3+ Yrs Commercial Controls Experience Required)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Installation Crew Leader to oversee commercial controls installation projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for directing installation crews, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring high-quality workmanship in the field.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience installing HVAC control systems, interpreting blueprints and specifications, and leading technicians on commercial construction projects. This position requires overnight travel approximately three nights per week depending on project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field installation crews on commercial HVAC controls projects.
- Coordinate daily jobsite activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, project plans, and specifications.
- Install, troubleshoot, and oversee installation of HVAC controls and associated equipment.
- Direct crew members, assign responsibilities, and provide technical guidance in the field.
- Install and coordinate control panels, field devices, control wiring, and associated building automation components.
- Ensure all work is completed safely while maintaining company quality standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and installation equipment safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, customers, and other trades to ensure successful project completion.
- Travel approximately three nights per week as required.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience leading commercial HVAC controls installation crews.
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC control systems and building automation installations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, project plans, and specifications.
- Experience installing and working with:
- VAV controllers
- VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
- Control panels
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Control wiring and associated field devices
- Field service and commercial installation experience required.
- Comfortable leading crews while remaining a hands-on contributor.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel overnight approximately three nights per week.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 Construction Certification preferred.
- OSHA 10 Construction Certification considered.
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and commercial controls integration.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
