Position Overview
Join a well established business in the Anderson, SC area and immediately become an influential member of a tight-nit team.
This is a full-time position year round. Our typical work week during the majority of the year is Monday- Thursday (10 hour days) and Fridays are used as weather make-up days. Overtime opportunities are typically available on Fridays throughout peak seasons.
The Crew Leader is responsible working in the field with a crew(s) and assisting with the day-to-day operations. This role demands a keen eye for detail, excellent project management skills, and the ability to train and motivate team members to deliver high-quality results.
The most important aspect of this role is servant leadership. Leading by example and holding everyone accountable to the same standard is paramount.
Daily Responsibilities
- Arrive prior to start time to do a pre-trip inspection on the trucks. Inspect equipment and report any damage or repairs needed. Ensure crew members are on time. Attend a brief meeting with the team to go over schedule details for the day. Assist in loading necessary equipment for the day. Follow routes in order and keep accurate records of all job details. Work alongside crew members and ensure that everyone is operating in the most efficient manner at each job site. Act as an initial point of contact for any in-person customer requests or concerns. Relay necessary information to the crews and/or upper management. Arrive back at the shop by 5:00 pm (occasionally slightly later or earlier depending on what makes the most the most sense from an efficiency standpoint). Unload necessary equipment and prepare for the next day (refuel, change blades, etc.)
Additional Responsibilities
- Use software to document job progress. Assist with equipment maintenance schedule & general repairs. Quality control on each job to ensure customer expectations are being exceeded. Train and develop staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. Enforce safety protocols and regulations on job sites to prevent accidents and injuries. Assist with further developing and refining standard operating procedures to increase consistency and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check. Previous experience in landscaping and lawn care. Must be able to drive a box truck and truck with trailer. Efficiently operate lawn care and landscape related equipment. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent project planning and organizational abilities. Ability to train and mentor crew members effectively. Solid understanding of landscaping equipment and its maintenance. Exceptional communication skills, both with clients and team members. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
