Job Summary
Havens of Minnesota is seeking a compassionate, driven, and team-oriented mental health counselor to join our outpatient treatment team. In this role, you will lead engaging, mental health–focused group and individual sessions, helping clients build the skills and resilience needed for lasting recovery. We’re looking for someone who brings both clinical expertise and a warm, charismatic presence to our supportive, client-centered environment.
Duties
- Deliver group and individual therapy using evidence-based interventions and best practices to support client recovery and mental health stability.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify mental health and substance use concerns, as well as barriers to recovery and overall wellness.
- Provide mental health education and consultation to clients, families, and staff, fostering understanding of the role mental health plays in recovery.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with MN 245G standards.
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with treatment providers, placement agencies, referral sources, and other professionals involved in client support.
Requirements
- Experience providing counseling to individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
- Full licensure in Minnesota as an LPCC, LMFT, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Minnesota 245G requirements and related regulatory standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Proficiency with computers and common office equipment (e.g., telephones, printers, copiers).
- Highly dependable, able to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a Minnesota DHS background study.
- Ability to build rapport and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
