About the Role:
Genesis Athletics is hiring an Afterschool Teacher to support students Kindergarten through 8th grade at Alamance Community School. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with kids, leading fun activities, and creating a safe, structured, and positive after-school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Supervision & Safety
Supervise and engage a cohort of students (K–8) with safety as the #1 priority
Follow program policies and procedures, including emergency protocols
Support students during transitions, snack time, homework/quiet time, and indoor/outdoor
activities
Program & Activity Leadership
Plan and lead age-appropriate activities for your assigned group(s)
Set up 3–4 daily activity options (games, sports stations, structured play, enrichment)
Use positive behavior supports and help resolve conflicts appropriately
Assist with homework/quiet time as needed
Operations & Communication
Take attendance and support check-in/check-out procedures
Maintain accurate records and report concerns or damaged equipment to site leadership
Communicate professionally with families when needed
Keep your space clean and organized daily (wipe down surfaces, sweep, stack chairs, store
materials)
Qualifications:
Experience working with children (school, camp, childcare, coaching, or afterschool preferred)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable supervising active groups
Must pass required background checks and complete program training
Bonus: CPR/First Aid, Early Childhood Education coursework, coaching/sports background,
bilingual skills
Typical Daily Schedule:
3:00–3:30 PM: Set up room/gym and prep activities
3:30–3:45 PM: Student pick-up from dismissal
3:45–4:00 PM: Attendance + quiet activity/read-aloud
4:00–4:15 PM: Snack time supervision
4:15–5:15 PM: Indoor/outdoor activities
5:15–5:30 PM: Clean-up and end-of-day wrap-up
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
