The Lead Driver is a key operational leader responsible for ensuring routes are dispatched efficiently, drivers are supported in the field, and service standards are consistently met.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines delivery responsibilities with daily operational oversight.

Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to drivers in the field, resolving issues and ensuring routes are completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate dispatch operations each morning, ensuring all routes are assigned, loaded, and depart on time.
- Monitor route progress throughout the day and make real-time adjustments to maintain service performance.
- Track shipments and ensure accurate scanning, proper handling, and timely delivery completion.
- Assist with driver scheduling to maintain full route coverage and support last-minute callouts.
- Respond to operational challenges such as delays, breakdowns, and customer concerns with effective solutions.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure full compliance with DOT and company policies.
- Oversee equipment and inventory to ensure proper usage, maintenance, and accountability.
- Train and mentor drivers to improve performance and reinforce company expectations.
- Support payroll processes by verifying timecards, tracking attendance, and ensuring accurate reporting.
- Document incidents, service failures, and operational issues clearly and accurately.
- Step in to cover delivery routes when needed to ensure service continuity.
- Maintain clear communication with management and team members on performance and operational needs.
- Lead by example, setting the standard for professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- F endorsement
- Minimum of 1 year of management or assistant management experience
- Ability to lift up to 150 lbs (dollies provided)
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical
- Prior delivery or driving experience preferred (FedEx, Amazon, UPS, or similar)

Pay: From $180.00 per day
