About Monkedia
We're a performance marketing agency that runs paid acquisition on Meta and Google for direct-to-consumer and ecommerce brands. Our clients spend between $5K and $100K a month in media, and they hire us to grow revenue, not to run pretty campaigns. Everything we do is measured in ROAS, MER, and CAC.
About the Role
This is the person our clients trust. As Senior Account Manager, you own a book of DTC and ecommerce accounts and you are accountable for keeping them, growing them, and making sure they feel the value we deliver every single month.
You are not the media buyer. Our buyers run the ad accounts. You own the relationship: you translate client goals into a brief the strategy and media teams can execute against, you read the performance data well enough to know when something is off before the client does, and you lead the conversation when results are strong and when they are not. The best people in this seat save accounts that a weaker AM would lose, and turn good accounts into bigger ones.
If you have managed performance-marketing clients through real spend, real targets, and real pressure, and you are energized by retention and growth rather than intimidated by it, this is your role.
What You Own
Retention. You are measured on the revenue you keep. You spot at-risk accounts early, run the save, and lead quarterly business reviews that reframe the relationship around results. Churn on your book is your number.
Growth. You expand accounts by identifying where more budget, more channels, or more creative would move the client's business, and you make the case with data. You partner with strategy on renewals and upsells.
The client relationship. You are the primary point of contact for a portfolio of [X] accounts representing roughly [$X] in monthly media / [$X] in monthly retainer. You run regular check-ins, own the communication cadence, and make sure every client is informed and confident.
The brief-to-execution bridge. You translate client goals into clear direction for the strategy, creative, and media buying teams, and you translate their output back into a business narrative the client understands. You keep both sides aligned so nothing falls through the cracks.
Performance storytelling. You pull the numbers, interpret them, and present them. You can stand in front of a founder or a CMO, explain why ROAS moved, and say what you are doing about it. You turn a dashboard into a decision.
Onboarding. You run a tight, high-touch onboarding that sets the tone for a long relationship and gets the account producing fast.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years managing client relationships, with a strong preference for agency and performance-marketing experience. This is a senior seat, not a first AM role.
- A track record you can point to of retaining and expanding a book of accounts, ideally including at least one account you personally saved from churning.
- Fluency in paid-media performance: you know what ROAS, MER, CAC, AOV, and CPA mean, you can read a Meta Ads Manager or Google Ads report, and you are comfortable in GA4 and reporting tools like Looker Studio, Databox, or similar.
- Experience managing DTC or ecommerce clients specifically, and comfort with founders and executive stakeholders who care about revenue.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, especially in hard conversations. You can deliver bad news and keep the client.
- Sharp project management. You keep multiple accounts, deadlines, and internal teams aligned without dropping anything.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented. You surface problems before the client does.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience managing accounts spending $10K+/month in paid media.
- Familiarity with creative production workflows and the role creative volume plays in performance.
This Role Is Not a Fit If
- You want to run the ad accounts yourself. Our buyers do that. You own the relationship and the outcome.
- You have never carried a retention or revenue number.
- You need clients to always be happy. Sometimes results dip and you have to lead through it.
