American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a Medical Surgical assignment at a correctional health facility in Illinois, requiring an active IL LPN license and experience in acute or ambulatory care settings.

Scheduled for day shifts (11:00–23:30) on a 3x12-hour schedule

Every other weekend (approximately 2 weekends per month) required

Charting is performed using Cerner
-
This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, including to other Cook County facilities within a 50-mile radius
-
Floating may be assigned up to 2 hours before a shift

Parking is free on a first-come, first-serve basis

Navy blue scrubs required

Active IL LPN license required at time of consideration (no pending license) — license required if applicable

Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing in the State of Illinois

Current BLS certification required

Successful completion of a Pharmacology/Medication Administration course for Practical Nurses in accordance with IDFPR standards (documentation may be requested)

Minimum 2 years of recent full-time paid clinical experience in an acute care or ambulatory care facility preferred

Proof of COVID vaccination required — no exceptions

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates

RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
-
RTO on weekends will not be approved
-
No RTO on holidays or the day before or after a holiday
-
Holiday coverage is required; calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
-
No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
-
If floated outside of primary competency, a team-based care model will be used
