About this RoleWhat we're looking for:
We need a software engineer with 3+ years of experience building data-intensive systems who has hands-on experience deploying AI agents in production. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment with minimal specs and have a track record of shipping automation that replaces manual workflows. Bonus points if you've worked at a vertical AI company or have experience with geospatial data or energy infrastructure.
What you'll do:
- Build and deploy AI agents that automate human-driven power development workflows (siting, interconnection, permitting)
- Take full ownership of end-to-end features, iterating closely with power and permitting industry experts
- Design and scale automation systems that unlock new modeling capabilities and fundamentally change the renewable energy market
- Work across the stack — backend services, ETL pipelines, databases, and infrastructure — to support ever-growing platform traffic
- Collaborate tightly with the product team on roadmap and prioritization
- Gain deep domain knowledge in energy infrastructure development and apply it to build intelligent, production-grade agentic systems

RequirementsIdeal Candidate ProfileSeniority
- 3–8 years of experience in software engineering at a tech company, with recent AI agent experience
Work Experience
- Deployed AI agents in production environments within the last 2–3 years
- Worked at a high-growth tech startup (no consultancies or banks; big tech generally not a strong signal unless there is clear mission/culture fit)
- Experience at a vertical AI SaaS company building agents
Education
- CS degree (or related) from a top 30 US school
Hard Skills
- Proficient in Python and SQL
- Experience with Agent SDKs, LangGraph, or similar frameworks
- Full-stack comfort: backend, ETL, database, infrastructure
- Worked with geospatial data or energy grid modeling
Soft Skills
- Alignment with company culture memo
