BAS Controls Technician
Key Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and commission HVAC control and building automation systems (DDC).
- Interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
- Install conduit, enclosures, sensors, control devices, and related wiring.
- Coordinate installation activities with project managers, electricians, and other trades.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of existing control systems.
- Maintain assigned inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Complete daily documentation including time reports, installation progress, and test results.
- Represent The HVAC Company professionally in customer-facing interactions.
- Follow all company safety policies and jobsite regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training, including manufacturer (OEM) programs.
- Support project schedules including occasional overtime or travel as required.
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in low-voltage, HVAC controls, or building automation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, electrical meters, and a general knowledge of wiring practices.
- Experience using mobile devices and computers.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a field team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade school or certifications in HVAC, Controls, or Electrical Systems.
- Experience installing, commissioning, or troubleshooting DDC systems.
- Experience coordinating with mechanical contractors and electricians.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Safely operate a company vehicle and follow all PPE requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs frequently.
- Regular climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working on rooftops (15–50 ft) and in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour, dependent on experience
