Your Patients Are More Than an Assignment
During your rotation, you'll provide evening and overnight hospice nursing support to patients throughout the Greater Twin Cities Metro Area.
You'll care for patients in:
- Private homes.
- Assisted living communities.
- Memory care settings.
- Skilled nursing facilities.
- Other community-based environments.
Instead of caring for an entire unit at once, you'll have the opportunity to focus on the patient and family in front of you.
You'll assess what's happening clinically, determine what can improve the patient's comfort, educate caregivers, and coordinate additional support when needed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide skilled hospice nursing care during evening and overnight hours.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Manage pain, dyspnea, agitation, nausea, wounds, and other symptoms.
- Implement comfort-focused nursing interventions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of medications and symptom-management strategies.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding medications, symptoms, disease progression, and comfort measures.
- Help families understand what to expect as a patient's condition changes.
- Provide emotional support while maintaining strong clinical focus.
- Coordinate with physicians and other hospice professionals regarding changing patient needs.
- Collaborate with nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice aides, and community healthcare partners.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Advocate for each patient's comfort, dignity, and individual goals of care.

What We're Looking For
- Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
- Confidence working independently in the field.
- Excellent patient and caregiver education skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to provide compassionate care during emotionally complex situations.
- Comfort caring for medically complex patients.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Hospice experience preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Greater Twin Cities Metro Area.
