Position Summary
The Senior Payroll Coordinator ensures compliance with state and federal wage, hour, and payroll regulations, and serves as the liaison between employees, managers, the executive team, and our third-party payroll provider.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Review payroll reports and employee information to ensure processing accuracy.
- Understand and implement multi-state payroll tax requirements, payroll adjustments, and employee status changes.
- Coordinate payroll processing with the company's payroll provider.
- Communicate with employees and managers regarding payroll questions, corrections, and policy interpretation.
- Assist with employee benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment.
- Prepare payroll-related labor compliance reports.
- Ensure compliance with California wage and hour laws and other applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.
- Support HR initiatives, onboarding, and administrative projects as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies.

Qualifications
- 2–3 years of payroll experience required (5+ years preferred).
- Experience with an HRIS system as it pertains to payroll.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Working knowledge of California payroll regulations and wage and hour laws.
- Experience preparing labor compliance reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prevailing wage experience.
- Certified payroll experience.
- Experience with state and federal labor compliance reporting.
- Construction, field service, or technician payroll experience.
- Experience supporting employee benefits and Human Resources.
- Fundamental understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Familiar with MyGo and ADP payroll software.
