Tired of the commercial environment? Wesley Preschool, a ministry of Wesley United Methodist Church, is seeking an experienced and nurturing Preschool Lead Teacher for the 2026-2027 School year. Casual work attire, Lively atmosphere, 9-12 hours a week.
Wesley Preschool is located in Marysville, only 5 mi from Enola, 9 mi from Camp Hill and Duncannon, and 10 mi from Colonial Park.
As Lead Teacher, you’ll design and direct the daily classroom experience—planning curriculum, leading activities, and creating a safe, joyful environment where young children can learn and grow. Working under the direction of the Director, you’ll take ownership of your classroom while collaborating with assistant staff and supporting the wider life of the preschool.
We’re looking for someone who loves working with preschool-aged children and who will help us live out our mission: to recognize each child as a unique creation of God and to convey the love of Christ in every relationship. What You’ll Do
- Plan day-to-day curriculum for your class under the direction of the Director
- Submit weekly lesson plans and monthly calendars by the assigned dates
- Direct planned daily activities and remain present in the classroom at all times
- Guide children during free play and center time
- Refresh toys, books, and materials to fit each lesson’s theme
- Arrive 30 minutes before and stay 30 minutes after each session for preparation and cleanup
- Accompany and supervise children outdoors and in the gym (at least two adults are present whenever children leave the building)
- Ensure children’s safety following the guidelines of the Wesley Church Administrative Council and Preschool Director
- Set up classroom furniture, bulletin boards, and toys before the school year begins
- Support school programs and events such as Back to Preschool Night, the Halloween Parade, Christmas Play, Trike-A-Thon, field trips, and Graduation
- Attend regular staff meetings and support school fundraisers and programs
What We’re Looking For
- A BS in Early Childhood Education, or a high school diploma/GED equivalent, with experience working with preschool-aged children
- Strong organizational skills for curriculum and lesson planning
- A cooperative, professional, and cheerful approach to working as part of a team
- Sensitivity and respect in relationships with children, parents, and coworkers
- Willingness to support the Christian mission and philosophy of Wesley Preschool
Requirements
- Successful completion of background checks
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Pay: Up to $13.00 per hour
