About Us
We're an established CPA and wealth advisory firm in northern New Jersey, serving individuals, small businesses, and families across tax, estate, and financial planning. We're a close-knit team where you'll work directly with partners and advisors rather than sitting three layers down in a department.
The Role
We're looking for a licensed CPA with 1–3 years of experience who wants to build a career that combines tax work with financial advisory. You'll start on the tax side — individual, small business, and estate/trust — and grow into a client-facing advisory role over time. This is a genuine development track, not a title we hand out later.
What You'll Do
- Meet with existing clients and prepare their individual tax returns
- Prepare small business returns — 1065s and some 1120s
- Work on estate plans and estate tax returns, including NJ-ITR, 1040, and 706
- Handle year-round tax planning and projections
- Build financial plans and client budgets
- Participate in retirement and estate planning meetings alongside our advisors
- Support the advisory team on tax planning matters
- Contribute to new business development as you grow into the role
What You Bring
- Active CPA license
- 1–3 years of public accounting experience
- Accounting degree (Master's in Tax or Accounting is a plus)
- Comfort sitting across from clients and explaining things in plain English
- Strong attention to detail and self-management
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Nice to Have
- Lacerte experience
- QuickBooks proficiency
- Strong Excel skills
- Interest in pursuing a CFP or similar credential — we'll support it
Why You'll Like It Here
- A real path from tax preparer to advisor, with partners invested in getting you there
- Direct client contact from the start instead of years behind a screen
- Exposure to estate, trust, and wealth planning work that most firms reserve for senior staff
- Support for additional credentials
- Small-firm visibility with the kind of client base that keeps the work interesting
The Honest Part
This is an in-office role. Expect some evening and Saturday hours during tax season (February through April) when clients need to meet.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary plus bonus and benefits, commensurate with experience.
