Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems including asphalt shingle roofing.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, and install roofing materials according to project specifications.
- Follow construction plans, schematics, and blueprints accurately to ensure precise execution of roofing projects.
- Set up ladders securely and utilize construction safety harnesses to work at heights safely while adhering to all workplace safety regulations.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks involving materials such as shingles, metal panels, or concrete forms while maintaining proper lifting techniques.
- Support siding installation, trim carpentry and other related exterior building tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by following safety protocols diligently and ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly.
- Collaborate with team members on scaffolding setup, framing carpentry, or restoration projects as required.
- Assist in fabricating or modifying materials in the shop or on-site for specific project needs.
Experience
- Prior construction experience with a focus on roofing or exterior building trades is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with roofing repair techniques and installation methods for metal roofing or asphalt shingles.
- Knowledge of construction safety harnesses, ladder use protocols, and adherence to workplace safety regulations is essential.
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions on construction sites is advantageous.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings confidently for precise project execution.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, caulking guns and tile laying equipment.
- Demonstrate ability to lift heavy materials safely and work effectively within a team environment focused on safety and quality standards.
