The Patient Admissions Technician is responsible for managing patient registration, coordinating consultations and diagnostic procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation of demographic, medical, and insurance information. The role collects patient liability, handles authorizations in hospital system and refers patients for financial counseling. The role supports administrative tasks and participates in ongoing training to uphold high standards of care

Responsibilities:
- Assists in managing the patient from admission through transfer to inpatient units, working closely with clinical teams to achieve efficient allocation of resources and capacity.

Coordinates with various departments to book, confirm, schedule, and reschedule consultations, diagnostic tests, and procedures.

Manages scheduled and unscheduled patient registrations, ensuring timely processing, obtaining signatures, scanning documents, and completing physician orders accurately

Welcomes patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner upon arrival and directs them to the relevant desk.

Ensures the collection and documentation of all necessary demographic, medical, and insurance information to facilitate patient processing.

Handles authorization processes by accurately inputting required information into the EPIC system to ensure smooth and timely claim submission. Identifies patients who may require financial counseling assistance and refer them to Patient Financial Counselors for further support.

Completes and processes admission forms, ensuring all information is filled and compliant with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Utilizes hospital management software and other digital tools to help with scheduling appointments, updating records, and preparing reports.

Executes administrative tasks, such as filing and maintaining documents in accordance with management's directives.

Participates in regular training sessions on healthcare regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and consistently deliver high standards of patient care.
Qualifications:
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
-
One (1) year of patient care experience in hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
