About The Role
The Hemp Collect is looking for a detail-driven Packaging Lead to oversee daily packaging operations at our NC facility. Reporting to the Production Supervisor and Production Manager, you'll own quality control, keep packouts running efficiently, track SKU output, and mentor a team of packaging associates. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Quality Control & Execution
- Oversee daily packouts, ensuring compliance with SOPs and quality standards
- Run pre-, mid-, and post-packaging QC checks to catch and resolve issues in real time
- Verify labeling, batch numbers, weight, and seal integrity on every run
- Confirm components are pulled correctly per BOMs on POs (Katana)
- Complete Final Goods QC checks before product is released to Fulfillment
- Document defects and drive corrective actions to reduce errors
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with safety and operational guidelines
SKU Tracking & KPI Monitoring
- Track daily and weekly output, making sure all scheduled SKUs finish on time
- Log SKU-specific packaging rates to support production planning
- Analyze efficiency trends, flag bottlenecks, and propose fixes
- Report on packout accuracy and waste reduction against company KPIs
Equipment & Maintenance
- Operate packaging machinery and equipment, troubleshooting issues promptly to maintain

- Run regular maintenance checks and report malfunctions without delay
- Develop and maintain equipment maintenance schedules
Documentation & Inventory
- Write and maintain SOPs, docs, and forms for the Production Department, updating them as procedures change
- Maintain accurate documentation of all packaging activities
- Assist with intake of production WIP SKUs as needed
- Conduct end-of-month inventory counts on production WIP SKUs with associate support
Team Leadership
- Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to packaging associates
- Support training so the team stays proficient in QC standards and SOPs
- Partner with manufacturing to resolve issues quickly
- Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong communication skills and sharp attention to detail
- Clean hygiene and willingness to follow cGMP practices
- Understanding of (or willingness to learn) NC hemp compliance expectations
- Self-starter who stays productive without oversight and likes analyzing processes
- Working knowledge of cannabis/hemp products
- Must be 21+ and able to commute daily to our Canton, NC facility
