Job Title: Environmental Services Technician

Job Summary:
Responsible for cleaning required number of rooms to ensure compliance with established organization standards. Reports maintenance deficiencies and complies with Environmental Services procedures, safety guidelines and security procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing work under the supervision of the Director of Plant Services and the request of the nursing staff, in emergency situations.
- Responsible for the appearance and cleaning of the interior of the hospital.
- Constant alertness to needed repairs and make out work requests.
- Abide by established cleaning procedures.
- Subject to emergency call, on or off duty hours.
- Handles appliances, equipment, and cleaning chemicals in a safe manner.
- Responsible for the thorough cleaning of patient rooms after a discharge.
- Environmental Service Technicians are responsible for performing routine repetitive daily tasks, despite frequent interruptions.
- Responsible for the organization of equipment, and supplies, in all mop closets, Environmental Services supply room, and Environmental Services office.
- Responsible for the proper use, care and maintenance of all supplies and equipment used in performing Environmental Services duties.
- Responsible for keeping all containers current and properly labeled.
- May also be assigned shifts in the Nutritional Services Department.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understand the Infection Prevention Policies and Procedures and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Must learn about the Safety Data Sheets and abide by the procedures.
- Recognize hazardous areas and take proper precautions.
- Must be flexible and able to work in an environment that has frequent and multiple interruptions, which is stressful at times.
- Must be able to follow department policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Basic Computer skills.
- Knowledge of Environmental Services Procedures.

- Strength and stamina to walk, stand and climb a ladder; stamina and flexibility to stoop, squat, bend, kneel, crouch and/or crawl; strength, dexterity, and stamina to use hands and arms to reach, grasp, squeeze, and operate floor care equipment.
- Frequent moving or lifting of objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
