The dental office of Dr. John Chao, inventor of the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST®), is seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Dental Assistant.
Dr. Chao has trained more than 4,000 dentists worldwide through Pinhole Academy. This is primarily a clinical dental assisting position, with opportunities to assist with general dentistry, specialized Pinhole® procedures, and occasional Pinhole Academy seminars and live clinical demonstrations.
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during general and surgical dental procedures.
- Assist Dr. Chao with Pinhole® procedures and other specialized treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials.
- Follow proper sterilization and infection-control protocols.
- Take and process dental X-rays.
- Record and update patients’ medical and dental histories.
- Provide oral hygiene and postoperative care instructions.
- Maintain equipment and monitor dental supply inventory.
- Schedule appointments and assist with administrative duties when needed.
- Keep treatment rooms and shared workspaces clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Comfort and support patients throughout their appointments.
- Occasionally assist with preparations for Pinhole Academy seminars and clinical demonstrations.
Qualifications
- Previous dental experience is required.
- Strong chairside assisting and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work independently and anticipate the dentist’s needs.
- Experience with digital X-rays, sterilization, and infection control.
- Comfortable assisting with surgical or periodontal procedures.
- Experience with Eaglesoft or similar dental software is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Dependable, punctual, adaptable, and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork.
- Interest in learning specialized Pinhole® clinical protocols.
