Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Handyman to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of residential, commercial, and manufacturing environments. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming space by performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive repairs and maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and mechanical equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform welding tasks and work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot and repair industrial automation systems.
- Maintain electrical equipment, troubleshoot electrical issues with tools such as ohmmeters, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Oversee facilities maintenance projects including residential painting, plumbing system repairs, HVAC system servicing, and general building upkeep.
- Supervise junior team members or contractors during maintenance tasks while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track repairs, and schedule preventive maintenance activities.
- Inspect facilities regularly for safety hazards or operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions promptly.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC repair, and general building maintenance.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Skilled in welding techniques suitable for various materials and repair scenarios.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment repair and troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) practices to optimize facility performance.
- Ability to supervise teams effectively while demonstrating leadership qualities and excellent customer service skills.
- Experience with CMMS software for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Strong communication skills in English to coordinate tasks clearly across teams.
