Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marine Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of boats. Queen Boat Co is the home of the Freedom Boat Club Lake George with a fleet of 28 club vessels. QBC also has dock rental customers, winter storage, ships store, and electric motor sales. The Service Technician will work under the direction of the Service Manager. Fun atmosphere. Team mentality. Competitive pay commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on boats and trailers, including engines, electrical systems, rigging, and mechanical components.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
- Assist in maintaining Freedom Boat Club fleet
- Preventative maintenance and service including but not limited to 20-hour services, routine oil and filter changes, winterizations, shrink wrapping, and spring commissioning
- Perform final quality checks of each vessel including cleaning the serviced area and restoring vessel to a clean, customer-ready condition
- Maintain a clean work area
- Pick up and deliver boats via trailer or on the water to customers
- Install, inspect, maintain and repair marine machinery and equipment
- Complete detailed reports on work orders including documenting parts used, repairs performed, schematics, and hours
- Additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- Ability to drive truck and trailer with clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule. Some weekends in summer required.
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals and electrical diagrams
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces. Able to lift at minimum 60 pounds.
- Basic tools required along with working knowledge of equipment
- Ability to take direction and work independently and efficiently
- Ability to drive a variety of boat types
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - team player
- Public Vessel certification, previous marina experience, and knowledge of Lake George certification a plus but not required
- Outstanding time management, punctuality and attention to detail
- Eagerness to learn and adapt as new technologies emerge in the boating industry. QBC will send technician to various schools for additional training as needed.
- If candidate meets many of the requirements but does not have marine experience, we are willing to train the right person.
- MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD.
- Must have driver’s license and own transportation
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during maintenance activities is required to ensure safety compliance.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
