We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-time Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect privacy.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including special diets for dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Support medication administration following care plans and ensuring proper documentation of all treatments and medications administered.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
- Observe and document patient behavior, progress, or any concerns related to neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities, contributing to ongoing care planning.
- Engage residents or clients in social activities and provide emotional support to foster a positive environment aligned with hospice or home health care standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly valued.
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia or Alzheimer’s care, memory care strategies, and resident’s <PERSON> (personal needs) management.
- Experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical procedures such as patient monitoring, CPR/First Aid certification, and manual handling techniques like the Hoyer lift.
- Understanding of care plans development and implementation along with medication administration protocols.
- Background in home health or community-based caregiving roles that emphasize patient safety and personalized support.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and supporting social work efforts aimed at improving quality of life for residents.
