Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Smoke Shop Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior retail experience, strong customer service skills, and a solid understanding of smoke shop products. Associates are responsible for assisting customers, maintaining store appearance, processing sales, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Provide product knowledge and recommendations on smoking accessories, vape products, cigars, and related merchandise.
- Operate the cash register and accurately process transactions.
- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with age-restricted sales laws.
- Restock merchandise and maintain organized product displays.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and presentable.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding sales and customer service.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Previous smoke shop, vape shop, tobacco retail, or related retail experience is required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience.
- Knowledge of smoking accessories, vape products, cigars, and tobacco products preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory management and merchandising.
- Familiarity with state and local regulations regarding tobacco and vape sales.
- Sales experience and the ability to upsell products.
