We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glass Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in glass installation and related construction activities, with a strong focus on safety, precision, and quality. This role involves working on various projects including commercial and residential buildings, ensuring that glass components are installed accurately and efficiently. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of construction processes and be capable of working with a variety of tools and materials in dynamic environments.
Duties
- Measure, cut, and install glass panels and windows according to project specifications and blueprints
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to prepare materials for installation
- Read schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings to ensure precise placement of glass components
- Perform caulking, sealing, and trim carpentry to ensure weather-tight and aesthetically pleasing finishes
- Handle heavy lifting safely when installing large or heavy glass units
- Assist with framing, metal stud framing, door hanging, fixture installation, cabinet installation, and remodeling projects as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, fabricators, and other trades to complete projects on schedule
Qualifications
- Proven experience in glass installation or related construction fields such as carpentry, remodeling, or fabrication
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and building codes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and metal stud framing equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces when necessary
- Experience with fixture installation, door hanging, trim carpentry, caulking, and construction painting is preferred
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes or maintenance person experience is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Valid driver’s license preferred for site travel
