YESTERcades is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for our Metuchen arcade. We’re looking for someone who enjoys gaming, works well with others, and can help create a fun, welcoming experience for every guest.
Our locations bring together classic arcade cabinets, pinball machines, and console games from multiple generations. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment, with opportunities to develop leadership, customer service, and technical skills.
This position is based primarily in Metuchen. Occasional travel to our Red Bank, Somerville, or Westfield locations may be required.
What You’ll Do
The Assistant Store Manager works alongside the Store Manager to support daily operations, assist the staff, and ensure the arcade consistently meets YESTERcades standards. You will also take charge of the location when the Store Manager is unavailable.
Duties include:
- Helping oversee daily operations and supporting employees during their shifts
- Serving as Manager on Duty
- Maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and guest-ready environment
- Assisting with basic maintenance and general upkeep
- Completing opening and closing procedures
- Handling bank deposits and routine administrative paperwork
- Delivering excellent customer service and resolving guest concerns
- Staying familiar with current and classic video games, consoles, and gaming trends
What We’re Looking For
- Strong familiarity with gaming consoles, from Atari-era systems through Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2
- Previous customer service, retail, supervisory, or management experience
- An interest in learning basic arcade game maintenance
- General upkeep skills, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Reliable transportation and the ability to assist at other YESTERcades locations when necessary
- Flexible availability based on business needs, including weekdays, weekends, opening and closing shifts, holidays, and occasional overnight projects
