The Fabrication Technician fabricates the orthoses and prostheses to provide maximum fit, function, cosmetics and workmanship. The Fabrication Technician is expected to keep abreast of all new fabricating techniques and must be familiar with the properties of pertinent materials and must be skilled in the use of appropriate equipment.

Perform fabrication and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards.

Occasionally (Several times a week) trains Associate Fabricators and peers

Occasionally (Several times a week) acts as an informal team lead within their workstream.

May Assist or Perform ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.

Works on Three – Four device types within a general Orthotic or Prosthetic workstream.

Maintain 5s to ensure for a safe, clean and orderly work environment.

Adhere to all safety regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.

Adhere to all HIPPA and other regulatory compliance training issued by Hanger, Inc.
Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, and 1 years’ experience working within environments that include: machinery, tools, wood working, design, fabrication, componentry, etc. –OR-

Without high school diploma/GED, 2 years’ experience working within O&P environments that include: machinery, tools, design, fabrication, componentry, etc. OR
-
A technical degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics from an accredited school.
