Job Summary
Our Lead Teachers are responsible for creating a safe learning environment and planning lesson plans that are full of fun! Additionally, it is important to us that our Staff can form positive relationships with our families that foster communication. We strive to be a supportive upbeat working environment.
Qualifications
Must be Rule 3 Qualified as an Assistant Teacher: With one or more of the following:
- Child Care Certificate or Credentials
- Related Degree (Masters, Bachelors, or Associates) in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies or related field (in progress or completed)
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills
- Must Pass a Criminal Background Check
- Minimum of one-year, verifiable experience working with young children in a licensed childcare facility or family day care home.
- Extensive teaching experience may be substituted for educational requirements, provided a professional development plan is in place.
- Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid, SIDS and AHT certification within first 3 months of employment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and positive interactions with children through an in-classroom interaction.
Job Functions
- Monitor and provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Complete illness forms, observations, and developmental checklist, as well as administering medications.
- Communicate and provide parents with any notes and/or behavioral issues.
- Document the day-to-day activities and general caretaking of children.
- Serve meals including bottle prep, feeding, and cleaning.
- Assist lead with organizing, cleaning, rearranging the classroom.
