JOB SUMMARY
The Premier Banker II is responsible for building long-term relationships with our customers by providing superior value and integrity and personalized service. The Premier Banker also contributes to the growth and development of our communities through investment and involvement. They are responsible for opening deposit accounts, handling customer inquiries in person or by phone, explaining the banks’ products and services to customers, and ensuring that their financial needs are met and that their experience is a positive one. As a tenured Banker in dealing with Premier customers the Banker will assist in responsibilities that help mitigate risk, retain deposits, and train new bankers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Open new “International” and “Domestic” Commercial and Personal accounts including but not limited to checking, savings, and certificates of deposits, money markets, safe deposits boxes, and IRAs.
Collects or completes all required documentation for accounts to comply with all regulatory requirements and bank policies.
Responds effectively to customers requesting to close their accounts, determining the reason, and offering possible alternatives.
Conducts all required credit and banking history required inquiries prior to opening accounts.
Submits New Account files to quality control and CAG in a timely manner.
Responds to customer inquiries regarding their account or company products/services in a professional and courteous manner.
Actively call on customers with maturing CDs to renew and retain the deposit relationship.
Prepares Debit Card applications and is responsible for addendums on the DDA accounts, logging into the “Debit Card Binder” and placing in safekeeping until customer comes in to pick up at the department. In addition, make sure to notify the department responsible to remove addendum once debit cards are picked up.
Sets up check orders on system and is responsible for addendums on the DDA accounts, logging into the “Checks Binder” and place in safekeeping until customer comes in to pick up at the department. In addition, make sure to notify the department responsible to remove the addendum once checks are picked up.
Perform wire transfers including domestic, international, and foreign exchange. Confirms and verifies received instructions with authorized signer on the accounts, verify signature on request is legitimate and review if funds are available.
Assist foreign customers by sending payment by preapproved checks to third party merchants (utility bills, credit card payments, etc.).
Monitors their own tickler list quickly clears any error or exceptions identified within the work performed.
Understands and perform crucial risk mitigation processes that cover basic and enhanced due diligence.
Work with product partners (Treasury Management, Credit Cards, Payroll, Foreign Exchange, Mortgage, etc.) to analyze, evaluate and develop a tailored relationship strategy for each client or prospect.
Maintains working knowledge of all bank products and/or services.
Safeguards customer information at all times, by securing sensitive data, applying cybersecurity best practices and always following procedure when addressing customer requests.
Serves as a specialist in the interpretation of Mexican business documentation to identify powers, authority levels, nature of business and business structure.
Assist in training new Premier Bankers to understand job responsibilities as related to systems utilized and process follow through.
Identifies solid referrals to foreign exchange and mortgage.
Upsells Treasury Management solutions and coordinates set up with TM Analysts.
Assists management in completing risk mitigation exercises including but not limited to BSA RFI and EDD reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business, related field required or equivalent experience.
3+ years of prior banking experience preferred
Previous sales, or customer service experience required.
Excellent customer service skills with a sales-oriented approach.
Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, the Windows environment, and internet research skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Bilingual— English/Spanish required
Ability to perform basic math functions and to balance to expected totals.
Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well, and in a positive manner, with co-workers and management.
Must be versatile, flexible and have a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Ability to communicate with people at all levels and various backgrounds

BANK SECRECY ACT (BSA)
