Summary:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the incumbent will prepare various fixture details and components for the final Assembly process.
Job Terms:
Permanent, Full Time, 40+ hours per week
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Secure, measure and cut raw metal stock to prescribed sizes
- Square up metal blocks
- Clean Black Oxide from details
- Remove sharp edges on details through de-burring
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools to shape work piece to prescribed finish
- Keep a clean and organized work station
- Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines and company policies
- Other general labor duties, as required
Skills & Abilities:
- 1 year of experience operating machine shop equipment (Bridgeport mill, lathe, grinder, tumbler)
- Ability to utilize measurement instruments (caliper, micrometer, gauge block)
- Ability to read basic blueprints
- Manufacturing assembly setting work experience is an asset
- Familiarity with check fixtures, jigs and gauges is an asset
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively with minimal supervision
