The University of Akron is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor, Statistics for the Department of Statistics. Responsibilities include teaching and developing curriculum for core courses, as well as teaching and developing elective courses in area of expertise. Conduct research in their areas of specialization and related areas that is publishable in recognized journals and/or worthy of external funding. Develop research collaborations with other institutions of higher education or research in northeast Ohio and beyond. Show potential in their teaching and research for reaching out into and benefiting the under-served communities in Akron and northeast Ohio (such as those in our local urban school systems or local community organizations).

Requirements
A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in statistics, applied statistics or biostatistics. Demonstrated teaching potential and evidence of interest in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Potential for research productivity that can be disseminated in quality peer-reviewed journals.

Compensation
