Description:
Job Summary
The Medical Assistant is responsible for obtaining patient records and test results, preparing treatment rooms for examinations and assists our practitioners during medical procedures.
Essential Functions:

Room patients and updating patient information into EMR system

Transcribe for providers during exams

Assist with biopsies and select surgical procedures

Educate patients on treatment plans
-
Assist with cosmetic procedures
-
Complete prior authorizations for prescriptions, biologics, and procedures
-
Stock rooms with necessary supplies
-
Report biopsy, culture and/or lab results to patients via phone if directed by provider
-
Sanitize all work areas throughout the day and after each patient
-
Send patient visit notes to referring provider/PCP
-
Answer incoming calls when not in a room with a provider

Assist office staff with front end tasks if needed

Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education, Skills, and Experience:

High School Diploma required
-
Must have certification from a Medical Assistant Program
-
1-3 years of relevant medical / surgical practice experience
-
Professional attitude and appearance

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise

Excellent organizational skills
-
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

Customer service attitude

Experience with practice management software (ie EMA) and Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Physical Requirements:
-
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
-
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
