Overview
Alamo Navajo Community School is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement standards-based lesson plans aligned with curriculum requirements and individual student needs.
- Teach high school English Language Arts courses, including reading, writing, literature, grammar, and language skills.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and promote academic growth.
- Utilize learning technology and instructional resources to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Monitor student progress and use assessment data to guide instruction.
- Maintain effective classroom management and establish a safe, respectful learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to promote student success.
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model for students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
- Participate in professional development and school improvement activities.
- Support extracurricular activities, after-school programs, or school events as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Secondary Education, or a related field required.
- Valid New Mexico teaching license (or ability to obtain licensure).
- Endorsement in English Language Arts preferred.
- Previous teaching experience at the secondary level is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, assessment, classroom management, and student engagement.
- Experience integrating technology into instruction is preferred.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and culture of Alamo Navajo Community School.
