Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, consistency, and flair, adhering to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative dishes and seasonal specials based on current trends and ingredient availability
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment by following food safety protocols and sanitation procedures
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and portioning to minimize waste and maximize quality
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal preparation during busy service hours, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining high standards of taste and presentation
- Demonstrate excellent knife skills and food preparation techniques to optimize efficiency and safety in the kitchen
Requirements
- Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
- Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating versatility in meal preparation for special dietary needs
- Background in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work seamlessly as part of a team
- Knowledge of menu planning, food industry best practices, and catering operations is preferred
