Football Equipment Manager (Part Time / Seasonal)
Position Overview:
Central Catholic High School is seeking a dependable, organized, and hardworking part-time Football Equipment
Manager to support the daily operations of the football program. This position plays an important role in ensuring that
practices, games, travel, equipment, uniforms, and gameday logistics run smoothly and safely.
The Football Equipment Manager will work closely with the Head Football Coach, Athletic Director, athletic training
staff, assistant coaches, student managers, and outside vendors to support the needs of the football program throughout the
season.

Head Football Coach (works closely with the Athletic Department, athletic training staff, assistant coaches, and booster
organization)

Schedule:
Days and hours will vary depending on the football schedule, including practices, home and away games, team travel, and
postseason responsibilities. The number of days needed per week will be determined in coordination with the Head
Football Coach and Athletic Director(s).
This position requires availability for practices, evenings, weekends, and gamedays as needed. The Football Equipment
Manager must be capable of arriving early and leaving late, particularly on gamedays.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and support the football managerial staff, including student equipment managers.
- Help train, organize, and supervise student managers for practices, games, equipment handling, and field setup.
- Coordinate practice and gameday setup and breakdown, including tents, clocks, sideline equipment, hydration
stations, and other necessary materials.
- Ensure all practice and gameday equipment is transported to and from practices, home games, away games, and
team events.
- Coordinate the pickup, use, and return of the team U-Haul truck before and after games, in collaboration with the
Athletic Director. Maintain an accurate inventory of practice equipment, gameday equipment, uniforms, helmets, shoulder pads, and
other football-related items.
- Communicate regularly with the Head Football Coach regarding broken equipment, low inventory, supply needs,
and other equipment-related concerns.
- Assist the athletic trainer with setting up hydration stations and ensure awareness of ice and water sources at
practice and game locations.
- Distribute and collect uniforms before and after games.
- Work in cooperation with Century Sports on uniform drop-off, collection, usage, and laundry services.
- Make basic repairs and adjustments to football equipment, including helmets, shoulder pads, and related items.
- Ensure equipment rooms, storage areas, and sideline materials are organized, clean, and properly secured.
- Arrive early and stay late on gamedays and other required team events to ensure all setup and breakdown
responsibilities are completed.
- Assist coaches and athletic staff with other football operations and equipment needs as assigned.
- Support a professional, organized, and safe environment for student-athletes, coaches, and staff..
Salary Range:
Stipend Position; Commensurate with education and experience.
Position Requirements:
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently while also collaborating well with coaches,
athletic staff, student managers, and vendors.
- Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to serve the needs of student-athletes and the football
program.
- Prior experience with football equipment, athletic operations, coaching, team management, or equipment repair is
preferred but not required.
- Basic handyman skills and comfort making minor repairs or adjustments to football equipment, including
helmets, shoulder pads, and related items.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, and setting up equipment.
- Availability for practices, evenings, weekends, home and away games, and postseason responsibilities as needed.
- Capable of arriving early and leaving late, particularly on gamedays.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, all current clearances and background checks required by the Diocese of
Pittsburgh.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, is required.
