Our Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses play a vital role in delivering exceptional long-term care at PACHS. As an LPN or RN in our care centers, you will support residents and families by assessing health needs, planning and implementing care, and ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. You will work under the Director of Aging Services, supervising nurse aides and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to maintain high standards of nursing practice.
In this role, you will assess resident conditions, provide direct nursing care, administer medications according to PACHS policy, respond to resident concerns, and participate in resident and family education. You will help maintain a rehabilitative and restorative care environment, follow infection control techniques, implement individualized care plans, and maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic and paper medical records.
Your responsibilities include receiving and transcribing physician orders, maintaining adequate clinical supplies, recognizing and reporting resident health concerns, utilizing safety protocols, assisting in maintaining a positive physical and emotional environment, and supporting resident rights. You will adapt to changes in healthcare processes and technology, maintain required system access, and assist with other duties as assigned.
This role requires dependability, strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm and effective in rapidly changing or urgent situations. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN) and hold a current Iowa nursing license. CPR certification, basic computer skills, and flexibility in scheduling are required. Prior experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
