Houseperson (Houseman) Position

Shift: Starts at 9:00 AM (Ends when daily assignments and checklist are completed)
About the Role
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites is looking for a reliable and motivated Houseperson (Houseman) to join our housekeeping team. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active, takes pride in cleanliness, and wants to work in a friendly hotel environment.
We are looking for a thorough cleaner with excellent cleanliness standards to help maintain all areas of our hotel. The goal of this role is to enhance the guest experience by keeping our facilities clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
No hotel experience? No problem — we provide training for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Schedule & Availability
- Must have open availability all 7 days of the week (including weekends and holidays)
- Shift begins at 9:00 AM
- Shift ends when assigned duties and daily checklist are fully completed
- Schedule may vary based on hotel occupancy and business needs
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas including lobby, hallways, elevators, public restrooms, breakfast area, and common spaces
- Support room attendants by delivering linens, towels, and housekeeping supplies
- Remove trash, recycling, and used linens from guest floors and service areas
- Vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitize high-traffic areas throughout the hotel
- Keep housekeeping storage rooms organized and fully stocked
- Respond promptly to guest requests such as extra towels or amenities
- Assist with setup and cleaning of breakfast or meeting areas as needed
- Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns to management
- Follow Holiday Inn Express brand cleanliness and safety standards

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfortable performing physical cleaning tasks throughout the shift
