Position Overview
1-800-Packouts of Southeast Tennessee is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Contents Technician/ Mover/ Packer to assist with contents handling during property damage restoration projects. This role is essential in helping customers recover after fire, water, or other losses by safely packing, transporting, inventorying, cleaning, and returning their personal belongings.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, physically capable, and customer-focused, with a strong work ethic and a team-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Pack, inventory, and label customer contents accurately and efficiently
- Load, transport, and unload contents to and from job sites and warehouse locations
- Perform contents cleaning, deodorization, and basic restoration as needed
- Safely handle fragile, valuable, and sentimental items with care
- Maintain organized storage areas and accurate inventory records
- Follow company procedures and industry standards for contents handling
- Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors
- Assist with re-pack and return of contents to customer homes
- Maintain clean, organized work vehicles and equipment
- Adhere to all safety policies and PPE requirements
- Safely operate company vehicles and equipment (box trucks, cargo vans, trailers, forklift, cardinal mule) in compliance with all traffic laws and company safety policies
- Assist with contents cleaning when needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in packouts, moving, restoration, or warehouse work preferred (training available)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor throughout the workday
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Professional appearance and customer-service mindset
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required)
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
