St. Anthony High School, a Catholic, co-educational college preparatory school in Long Beach, seeks a part-time Athletic Trainer for the 2026-27 school year. Working under the direction of the Athletic Director, the Athletic Trainer provides athletic training services to student-athletes across the school’s 19 interscholastic programs.
Responsibilities include: providing on-site coverage for scheduled practices and home contests; preventive taping, wrapping, and bracing; evaluation and triage of acute injuries; emergency care in accordance with venue-specific emergency action plans; administration of concussion and sudden cardiac arrest protocols, including return-to-play documentation consistent with California law and CIF Southern Section policy; maintenance of the athletic training room, supplies, and equipment inventory; accurate injury and treatment documentation; and ongoing communication with coaches, the Athletic Director, parents, and referring medical providers.
Coverage sites include the main campus at 620 Olive Avenue, the gymnasium at 525 Alamitos Avenue, and SAHS Memorial Stadium at 4700 Clark Avenue. Afternoon, evening, and weekend hours are required during competitive seasons.
- Current certification in good standing from the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC), as required under California Business and Professions Code section 2529.8.1 to use the title “athletic trainer” or “ATC”
- Bachelor’s degree from a CAATE-accredited athletic training education program; master’s preferred
- Current CPR/AED certification at the professional rescuer or Basic Life Support level
- Working knowledge of California requirements for concussion management, sudden cardiac arrest protocols, AED access, and venue-specific emergency action plans
- Prior secondary school or youth sports experience preferred
- Availability for afternoon, evening, and weekend hours during competitive seasons
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and to stand, kneel, and move on athletic surfaces for extended periods in varying weather
- Live Scan fingerprint clearance and completion of VIRTUS “Protecting God’s Children” and all Archdiocese of Los Angeles Safeguard the Children requirements prior to start

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
