Estate Administration Paralegal
Our client, a reputable law firm specializing in Estate Planning and Estate Administration, is in search of an experienced Estate Administration Paralegal to join their expanding team in Tupelo. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a seasoned and collaborative group, taking on probate and trust administration responsibilities from beginning to end while supporting clients during a crucial and personal time in their lives.
Role Overview
In this role, you will primarily assist the firm's Managing Partner, an active attorney with a focus on estate planning and estate administration. You will be mainly responsible for estate administration tasks and may occasionally support other attorneys within the team. Joining an established group that includes experienced paralegals, you will contribute your expertise to enhance the practice rather than build it from scratch. The firm's environment is professional, team-oriented, and values collaboration, responsiveness, and client service. This is a high-trust setting where paralegals are empowered to manage files independently while staying connected with their team.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage estate administration, probate, and trust matters from start to finish
- Assist in preparing trusts, probate filings, property and business transitions, and conservatorships
- Organize and file various legal documents related to estate and trust administration
- Obtain necessary documents and records from clients and agencies
- Review client financial information and draft estate tax analysis
- Prepare final estate planning letters and trust funding recommendations
- Review trusts, LLC agreements, and corporate bylaws
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy
- Maintain organized digital and paper files
- Communicate professionally with clients in person, by phone, and virtually
- Record billable time and meet hourly goals
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in estate administration, probate, or trusts
- Knowledge of probate and trust administration processes
- Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proactive mindset and collaborative approach
- Comfort working with clients in sensitive situations
- Four-year degree or paralegal certificate preferred
