Michigan by the Bottle isn’t just a place to drink wine—it’s where people come to connect, discover, and have a great time.
We bring together wines from some of Michigan’s best wineries under one roof, creating a fun, social, and welcoming experience for our guests. Whether it’s a casual night out, a date, or a group celebration, our team is what makes it memorable.
This role is very part-time and is 2 days a week maximum.
Hours we are open:
Friday: 4-10pm
Saturday: 12-10pm
Sunday: 12-6pm
About the Role
We’re looking for a Tasting Room Associate who loves people, bring great energy, and know how to create a memorable experience.
You don’t need to be a wine expert—we’ll teach you that. What we can’t teach is personality, warmth, and the ability to connect with guests.
If you’ve worked in restaurants, retail, events, or any customer-facing role—and you’re great with people—you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome guests and create a fun, inviting atmosphere from the moment they walk in
- Guide guests through wine flights, food offerings, and experiences
- Make thoughtful, confident recommendations based on what guests enjoy
- Help guests discover new wines (and maybe their new favorite bottle)
- Support sales of wine, food, merchandise, and wine club memberships in a natural, guest-first way
- Process transactions accurately using our POS system
- Prepare and serve light food items
- Keep the space clean, organized, and welcoming
- Assist with events, private tastings, and special experiences
What We’re Looking For
- Friendly, outgoing personality—you enjoy talking to people and making them feel welcome
- Strong customer service instincts and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, social environment
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player
- Willingness to learn (especially about wine—we’ve got you covered)
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and some holidays
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- This position is 2 days/week maximum
Bonus (Not Required)
- Experience in hospitality, retail, bartending, or events
- Interest in wine, food, or learning something new
- Previous wine knowledge (not required)
