Lead Pre-K Teacher – The Wonder School (Belmont, MA)
The Wonder School is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and highly qualified EEC Lead Pre-K Teacher to join our growing school community. This position is ideal for a dedicated early childhood educator who is passionate about teaching young children, has strong leadership skills, and can confidently lead a Pre-K classroom independently.
Position Overview
As the Lead Pre-K Teacher, you will be responsible for all aspects of classroom leadership, including curriculum planning, child assessments, family communication, and creating a joyful, engaging learning environment. We are looking for a teacher who brings creativity, professionalism, and a deep understanding of child development to the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a Pre-K classroom independently
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning experiences
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth
- Create a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Conduct observations and assessments and maintain accurate documentation
- Build strong partnerships with families through ongoing communication
- Guide classroom routines and behavior using positive, respectful teaching practices
- Mentor and collaborate with assistant teachers and other team members
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development
Qualifications
- EEC Lead Teacher Certification required
- Minimum 5+ years of preschool or Pre-K teaching experience
- Proven experience leading a classroom independently
- Strong curriculum planning and implementation skills
- Thorough understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Warm, collaborative, and professional approach with children, families, and colleagues
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
