Certified Medical Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Heart & Vascular Institute - Elizabeth team. This role plays an essential part in supporting our providers, delivering high-quality patient care, and ensuring efficient clinical operations within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Schedule: 7:00AM-5:00PM Monday-Thursday, 7:00AM-12:00PM Friday

What We're Looking For:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.

Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA , required.

Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare patients for appointments by obtaining vitals, performing EKGs, and updating medical histories.
- Clinical Support and Testing.
- Keep patients informed about their visit, testing processes, and next steps for care.
- Embody the Novant Health human experience by delivering kindness, empathy, and professionalism in every encounter.
- Partner closely with Providers and Nurses to coordinate care.
