Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of dental office staff, including receptionists, dental assistants, and hygienists, to ensure smooth daily operations
- Manage fiscal responsibilities such as budgeting, financial management, and billing processes using EMR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or eClinicalWorks
- Oversee medical administrative support functions including medical records management, medical terminology accuracy, and HIPAA compliance
- Ensure clinic compliance with health regulation policies and JCAHO standards while maintaining high-quality patient care
- Utilize healthcare management tools such as Epic or Managed Care systems to optimize practice workflows and patient scheduling
- Implement human resources practices including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and team development for a cohesive team environment
- Maintain knowledge of medical office procedures related to acute care, hospital experience, or veterinary experience as applicable to enhance practice versatility
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental office management or healthcare practice management with a strong understanding of dental clinic operations
- Demonstrated supervisory experience managing teams within a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of health regulation policies such as HIPAA and JCAHO standards
- Expertise in fiscal management including budgeting, financial oversight, and managed care processes
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Experience with office management tasks such as human resources functions, medical administrative support, and compliance monitoring
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring acute care or hospital experience is a plus
